VAT Electric chafing dishes keep prepared food warm and accessible during buffet service, catered meals and hotel dining. The UNIQ range from SIA La RONDE uses a water bath to transfer heat to a removable food pan. It is intended for hot holding rather than cooking, offering catering teams a counter-top option with covered food presentation and adjustable temperature control.
Equipment and tasks
Use the chafing dish for food that has already been cooked and needs to remain warm while guests or staff serve it. This suits buffet lines, self-service counters and catered functions where dishes need to stay accessible. The stainless-steel AISI 304 pan is removable and easy to clean, so it can be lifted out after service. Its GN1/1 format and 100 mm height help teams plan the vessel for the menu and serving routine.
The tempered-glass lid has an insulated handle and a cut-out for a ladle, allowing staff to serve with a utensil in place. Its two-part construction reduces heat loss when opened and helps maintain hygienic conditions. A card holder built into the lid gives the team a place for a dish card at the counter. The stainless-steel AISI 304 heating element sits in the water tank for heat transfer, and the casing is high-temperature-resistant polypropylene.
Parameters in use
At 607 mm long, 402 mm wide and 245 mm high, the appliance’s dimensions help teams assess counter space when arranging a buffet or service station. The temperature range is 35 to 85 °C, adjustable in one-degree steps. Staff can choose a holding setting suited to the dish and planned service. The digital panel displays operating time, set temperature and current temperature, so the team can check the appliance and compare its reading with the chosen setting.
The water tank has a marked maximum fill line indicating approximately 4 L, giving staff a visible reference when preparing the water bath. The last temperature setting is retained and selected when power is switched on again, helping restore the previous setting between uses. The UNIQ model is rated at 0.7 kW and 240 V; the white and green versions are rated at 0.7 kW and 220–240 V. The 1500 mm cord length helps teams consider positioning in relation to a suitable power point.
Choosing a product
The range includes the UNIQ model, a white version and a green version. Choose between them according to the presentation of the serving counter; the different finishes offer a straightforward way to coordinate equipment with the food display. Each version supports the same hot-holding role, with a covered pan and digital control. Consider the menu and serving routine when deciding whether the removable GN1/1 pan format fits the planned dishes.
For repeated serving, the ladle cut-out gives staff utensil access while the lid remains in place, and the display supports checks during service. Plan a counter position that leaves access to the controls and lid, and consider the cord length when arranging the unit. Prepare dishes separately before loading the pan, then use the adjustable control to maintain warmth. After service, remove the pan for cleaning as part of the kitchen’s equipment routine.
