VAT Contact grills give cafés, bars and restaurant kitchens a direct way to cook or reheat bread, meat, sausages and vegetables. SIA La RONDE’s range covers compact single grills, Panini models and double grills, with plate layouts and controls suited to different menus. Select by the food size, batch volume and whether separate cooking zones would help during service.
Equipment and tasks
A single grill suits focused preparation such as pressing a sandwich, browning a meat portion or heating vegetables. On product 27938, the 220 × 230 mm plate keeps the cooking area compact for individual orders or modest portions. Its half-ridged, half-smooth layout gives staff a choice of finish on the same plate: ridges mark food, while the smooth area provides flat contact for other items.
The Panini grill offers a broader surface for sandwich and snack preparation, while Panini XL provides still more room for larger panini. Double grills suit kitchens handling several items side by side. One double model has a smooth right-hand area and a left-hand area that is half ridged and half smooth, allowing different finishes to be used during the same service without changing equipment.
Parameters in use
The Panini model’s 340 × 230 mm surface provides more room than the compact single plate, making it useful for larger sandwiches or suitable items cooked together. Panini XL’s 450 × 270 mm surface gives space for full-size panini. A 2.2 kW rating supports heating of the Panini grill’s plates, helping staff prepare successive sandwich and snack orders through service.
Across the range, the adjustable temperature span from 50º to 300ºC lets operators choose heat for warming or grilling different foods. On the double grill, two independently adjustable thermostats allow separate settings across the cooking zones, useful when varied orders need different heat levels. The upper plate lifts using a heat-resistant handle and can be held in position by its spring mechanism, giving access to the lower plate for loading and clearing.
Choosing a product
Match the grill to the menu and order format. Choose a compact single model for modest batches and a mixed ridged-and-smooth cooking surface. The Panini grill provides more plate room for sandwich work; Panini XL is suited to larger panini. A double grill is worth considering when several items need space at once, particularly if separate thermostat settings would help manage different foods.
Consider cleaning and day-to-day handling as part of the choice. The Panini XL’s 18/10 stainless-steel body is suited to routine wiping. The lower plates have rear and side edges, and a removable drip tray makes collected drips easier to clear. Rubber feet reduce unintended movement during use, while the preheating light helps staff recognise when the grill is warming. A grill-cleaning brush is included with the models described.
