Non-slip mat Hendi 598047
Technical data 01 / 02
This blue PVC non-slip mat is designed to sit beneath a chopping board and help keep it stable during knife work. Its flexible material can be trimmed to suit a board footprint and rolled away between tasks, making it a practical support for a professional preparation station. It is not a surface for direct food contact.
Where it is used
Position the mat beneath a chopping board before preparing ingredients. Its anti-slip support increases friction between the board and worktop, helping resist movement as staff cut. A steadier board gives the operator a more dependable working base for routine knife tasks, without turning the mat itself into a cutting surface.
The blue colour provides a visible contrast against many board and worktop surfaces. This makes the mat easier to identify when laying out the station or clearing it after preparation. Keep ingredients on the chopping board: the mat is intended as an indirect support and is not suitable for direct food contact.
When the board station is cleared, the flexible mat can be rolled rather than stored flat. This gives staff a compact way to put it away between preparation tasks, particularly when the worktop needs to be used for another job.
Care
PVC is flexible and can be hand-washed in water up to 40°C. After kitchen use, hand-washing gives staff a direct way to clean the mat as part of resetting the preparation station, without relying on machine washing. Once washed, its flexible construction also allows it to be rolled for storage rather than requiring a flat place to keep it.
Keep the mat beneath the board during food preparation, then wash it as part of the station reset. This preserves its role as a support layer while food remains on the chopping board.
How to choose
The mat’s long, narrow format provides a continuous strip beneath a chopping board. Its footprint can be trimmed to suit the board, which helps keep excess material out of the surrounding preparation area. Consider that adaptability when selecting a support for a particular board station: the material can be cut to sit beneath the board rather than extending unnecessarily into the work area.
Choose this mat for the board-support task, not as a replacement cutting surface. Its anti-slip property is useful where the board needs help resisting movement during ingredient preparation; its lack of suitability for direct food contact means ingredients should remain on the board. The blue colour also makes the support layer easier to distinguish during station set-up and clear-down.
