The Hendi Panini XL contact grill has a 450 × 270 mm cooking surface and two ridged, non-stick cast-iron plates. Their ridges leave browned lines on panini, while the coating helps food release when it is lifted from the grill. The surface also supports grilling bread, meat, sausages and vegetables, giving a café or bar one appliance for a varied hot-snack offer.

Where it is used

Use the grill at a made-to-order panini station or for preparing other grilled items in a restaurant kitchen. The upper plate lifts by its heat-resistant handle and the spring mechanism holds it in position, leaving the lower plate accessible during loading and unloading. The lower plate’s raised rear and side edges help keep food and residue within the working area, while the removable drip tray collects what runs off.

A built-in switch and indicator provide local controls and a visible operating cue; a separate preheating light helps staff follow the warm-up stage. Ventilation openings help protect the grill from overheating during service.

Connection and installation

The 230 V supply and earthed plug suit a standard single-phase connection. Rated power of 2.7 kW helps operators account for the grill’s electrical load when allocating equipment to a kitchen supply. Its 1.7 m cable gives a defined reach from the appliance to the socket, useful when positioning it on a service counter.

The thermostat adjusts plate temperature continuously across the working range. This lets the cook set heat for the product in hand, rather than relying on a single fixed setting.

Care

Enamelled cast-iron plates are easier to keep clean than uncoated cast iron, and the supplied brush gives staff a tool for removing residue from the cooking surface. The drip tray lifts out separately, so collected drips can be cleared without moving the grill.

The 18/10 stainless-steel housing is corrosion resistant and easy to keep clean in a damp kitchen. Rubber feet add grip against the worktop, helping limit unwanted movement as staff load and unload food.

How to choose

Check the overall dimensions against the worktop space available at the hot-snack station. The grill’s footprint helps establish how much counter space remains for food preparation and service equipment. Its mass is also relevant when planning placement or movement on the worktop.

The cooking area is suited to Italian-style panini, while the adjustable thermostat covers grilling bread, meat, sausages and vegetables. Choose this format when the station needs to handle panini and other hot items on the same contact grill.
